“The Bird” Wooden Table Lamp is part of the furniture collection designed by Elena Rocabert and Marta Ochoa. The inspiration behind this collection draws from the enigmatic world of the Rorschach Test, where abstract inkblots encourage viewers to interpret what they see. Each item in this collection evokes different creatures and animals, making it a testament to the power of the human imagination.
This conceptual piece blends organic forms, mythical creatures, and natural elements with clean, modern lines. This fusion creates an interplay of shapes and contrasts, making each piece in this collection a unique composition. Its shape resembles the wings of birds, transforming them into small creatures. They possess an enigmatic quality, sometimes appearing slightly aggressive while simultaneously exuding a fragile charm.

The lamp is made out of two pieces of lacquered wood that are joined together to form the body of the lamp.
The lampshade is made of white linen.

About Ochoa Rocabert Visit Showroom →

Marta Ochoa and Elena Rocabert are both trained as architects, they completed their master's theses at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM). Their collaborative work spans various formats and scales, encompassing the design of objects, the construction of spaces, and scenography. Through their experimentation with materials, aesthetics, construction techniques and light, they produce ethereal pieces designed to engage the viewer on multiple levels. Their work is marked by a playful and gender-oriented approach. They have garnered professional experience in both Berlin and London, with stints at studios including Foster + Partners, Olafur Eliasson and Tomás Saraceno.
