SONIAH / Ukrainian for sunflower / a symbol of the prolific Ukrainian earth.

Our ancestors lived by the sun for centuries, building their lives around solar cycles. In the SONIAH collection, Faina walks in their footsteps inspired by the divine power of the sun. The SONIAH collection of lightning and furniture is a manifest of “new primitivism” in design. Pure minimalist shapes, crafted with the use of ancient techniques, eliminate the excess, return to the source and reveal the pristine. One of the symbols of Ukrainian land a sunflower (Soniah), has become a leitmotif of design. The strong sunflower stem legs of the bench are fueled by the living energy of the earth.
