Rethinking the ways we approach design and the impact we generate—on those who produce it and on those who use it—I eventually crossed paths with Sofía Plana, a Barcelona-based glassblower. Glass may appear fragile, yet in the right hands it can become something enduring. The spinning top Sofía asks for both a sensitive hand and a sensitive gaze. It speaks of the emotional fragility we all carry, which is often overlooked from our perspective as designers. It is a call for more human design, a reflection on our responsibility toward those who live beyond our drawings— and an invitation to go back and play like a child.
