The (S)LAB Fireplace, inspired by the stone pieces which the grandmothers of the Studio Gameiro designers had at home (and which they saw and ran around as unruly kids growing up), is one of their most whimsical and technically advanced creations at the Studio, not running on wooden logs anymore but on a sustainable source of energy, called bioethanol. Almost like a gathering around sculpture (or firepit) made for lazy evening reunions and dinners (and the odd marshmallow roast), Studio Gameiro designed it to be something useful and also movable (it can be easily wheeled around). It proved such a hit with clients that it is now one of the feature elements in most of the studio’s residential projects, as it literally warms everyone up to the power of taking design into different levels of research and technique. Here’s to serendipity and to unexpected pairings.
Made of natural stone, handcrafted by Portuguese artisans, and stainless steel interior. Available in other stones (upon request).
