Description

Each piece is constructed entirely from a single offcut sourced from post-production waste in kitchen manufacturing.

The material consists of 40mm finger-jointed panels in solid beech.
Finger joints are revealed in select areas, serving as a reminder of the material’s origin. Their placement is neither controlled nor designed but accepted as an integral part of the panel’s inherent logic.

The form remains intentionally simple. Any perceived complexity arises through interaction and movement, as the volume subtly shifts in profile depending on the viewer’s perspective.

About Studio Yann Gandon Visit Showroom →

Studio Yann Gandon is a design practice working with natural, recycled, and waste materials. The studio focuses on furniture design and material research, exploring ways to valorize industrial waste and overlooked resources, with an emphasis on simplicity and efficient assembly methods. About Yann Gandon Yann Gandon is a self-taught designer and woodworker from France who established his design studio in 2020. Originally based in New Zealand, he has since opened his studio in Copenhagen, Denmark. Transitioning from a business background, Yann developed his practice through experimentation and an engagement with the tactile nature of materials. His approach draws from independent exploration and constant learning. While self-taught, he has acquired a formal understanding of design systems, allowing him to bridge intuitive making with structured thinking and build a clear, personal point of view in his work.
