About the designer

ecoBirdy® In 2018 ecoBirdy launched its first collection of sustainable children’s furniture made from discarded plastic toys. Charlie Chair, Luisa Table, Rhino Lamp and Kiwi Container, along with a school programme and the story book “Journey to a New Life” were designed with an educational purpose in mind to get youngsters engaged with social and environmental responsibility. By transforming household plastic waste into inspiring furniture pieces, designer Vanessa Yuan and Joris Vanbriel have created a new standard that connects aesthetics and sustainability. From materi-al analysis to design concept and production process, the design duo are committed to making changes at all levels to achieve a smart solution to plastic waste, one that values our planet’s resources.
