The Quetschi vases by Thomas Waidhofer are part of a series of works based on a crimped cross-connection of aluminum tubes. The joints are mostly necessary to create stability or certain shapes, but they are often used just as a stylistic element. The crimped surfaces are produced using a self-made workshop press. Crimping creates brute forces that can lead to cracks and fractures in the material, which are considered intentional imperfections.
These vases are anodized aluminum, filled with epoxy, and 100% leak-proof.
