The Ofício desk is built upon functionality, expressed through a pragmatic design composed of four visible elements, connected by two crossbars with a detachable joinery system. The lines suggest the subtlety of a hand-drawn stroke, giving the design lightness and movement.
The trestle, an essential component in woodworking, is the key element of the design. It is Estúdio Simbiose’s version of a trestle design widely used in carpentry workshops.
The drawer unit, with two drawers of different sizes, rests on the crossbar and is internally fixed to the trestle. Adding a drawer unit to the design is both a functional and playful choice, making reference to the toolboxes commonly found in woodworking shops.
The tempered glass top serves as the support surface while keeping the entire structure visible, enhancing the composition of the desk as a whole.
The Designer uses a natural blend of Brazilian floral oils and waxes for the final finish of the piece.
This desk can be made in other species of Wood.
