This object does not just exist to fulfil its function. The project explores the notion of the utilitarian object as a medium for artistic expression. The mirror is compressed inside a massive frame. The user is forced to look deep into the gap to see his or her reflection, which is anyway disturbed. The object has its own whimsical personality; this must be accepted in order to give it meaning, function and sense.
The object is entirely hand-carved. Covered with natural linseed oil. Mirror — cut by hand. This is a unique piece.
Clean with a damp, lint-free cloth.
