Description

Annie Legault, a fiber-based artist and advocate of slow design, handcrafts each of her textile sculptures in her Old Montreal studio. Through her studio AMULETTE, founded in 2013, she creates refined, concept-driven works that merge functional design with the soul of traditional craftsmanship. Eschewing mass production and digital shortcuts, Legault’s practice is rooted in ancestral techniques and human-scale making — “high on concept, low on technology.”

Every gesture in her process is intentional and repetitive, embodying a celebration of imperfection, transience, and the traces left by the maker’s hand. Her sculptural lighting pieces carry this quiet energy, offering warmth, material richness, and emotional presence.

LUZULE — named after a grass native to forested regions — is both a tribute to plant life and a sculptural light object designed to transform interior spaces into poetic, organic environments. Standing at 8 feet tall, LUZULE blurs the boundary between sculpture and function. It evokes nature without mimicry, favoring soft geometry, tactile materiality, and handmade irregularity to suggest botanical forms through a contemporary lens.

Created entirely from natural materials, this monumental piece reflects the artist’s deep respect for the environment and for the meditative rhythm of slow craft. Each LUZULE is made to order and can be customized in size and color to suit residential, commercial, or public spaces.

Annie Legault’s work through AMULETTE includes one-of-a-kind pieces for interior designers, retailers, private collectors, and cultural institutions. Her sculptural lighting invites connection — with nature, with space, and with the quiet resilience of the handmade.

Each piece can be custom-made with a wide selection of colors available to perfectly suit your style and space.
