Description

The design is a “low” type chair with three feet. It is beige and red and is Carl Hultin’s very first attempt at painting over metal.

The work presented here is an eclectic result of Afropean roots, an interpretation of furniture with a new point of view.

The whole process of creating the chair is centred around craftsmanship and upcycling. It is empty, so it makes noise if knocked on. Entirely welded with upcycled metals found in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. It was made in 2017 (during the FESPACO).

This piece is the first of a three (1/3) part presentation of Hultin’s project called “Come See” and was selected for ADORNO’S “Out of the Box” collection for the Contemporary Design Market 2022, in Brussels.
