The Longing Lamp by Studio AOAO is a handcrafted sculptural lighting piece, cast in gypsum, meticulously hand-carved, and finished with a matte varnish. Illuminated from within by two hidden, dimmable lights, it highlights the lamp’s distinctive form. This collection embraces traditional carving techniques applied to pigmented gypsum, creating diverse and unpredictable textures inspired by natural patterns.

Part of the Living Forms Collection, the Longing Lamp draws on the intuitive approach of modernist philosopher Henri Bergson. His methodology views intuition as a natural extension of our organism, rooted in primal human senses. The collection’s organic, abstract shapes evoke a sense of familiarity despite their novelty, engaging the senses on an instinctive level and inviting a deeper, more visceral connection.

This lamp can be customized to fit any country. The studio offers customization options for color and size.
