The Lava vases are an extension of the approach to colour and dimension that Anna Jožová has taken with the Keto series. They are a combination of two layers of glass and copper wire, where the flow of enamel through the modeled copper wire gives the shape of the vase a dynamic appearance. Thematically, this series is again based on the eventuality of extinction caused by a natural disaster. The appearance of the vases is inspired by the natural process of a volcanic eruption and also refers, among other things, to the folly of the inhabitants of the city of Pompeii, which its inhabitants proudly built near a volcano. Each vase from the series may differ.
The surface of the vase oxidizes based on place where it’s located. The oxidation can be washed away with water. The vase holds water. The height of the vase is approx. is 42 cm, diameter 21 cm.
