Description

“Jardin” by Montserrat Piña Benetts is inspired by the intricate and charming design of the French epergne, an 18th century ornamental piece used as a centerpiece to present fruits and flowers, delighting diners at a dinner party.

This once ubiquitous centerpiece, now relegated to the recesses of memory, becomes a vessel that allows us to rediscover the allure of ancient treasures and reflect on the transience of trends and the changing landscape of aesthetics and domestic rituals.

Through this revival, the sculpture acts as a bridge through time, resurrecting the forgotten charm of a treasured artifact and the meaning of relics left by past generations.

“Jardin”, by fusing the experimental and the imperfect through its production in bioplastic, evokes a feeling of irregularity. This approach reinvents the epergne, not as a perfect piece, but as a free and unpredictable object.

The project celebrates the dialogue between ancient and modern, perfect and imperfect, reviving a forgotten symbol of opulence with a contemporary and experimental spirit, like a symphony of organic forms.

Only to be used with dry flowers. The use of water in the vases will soften the material.
