Lucas Gutierrez (b. 1985) is a Berlin-based Argentinian digital artist and industrial designer with a multifaceted approach to his craft. He has ventured into a myriad of disciplines, ranging from lectures, workshops, and audiovisual performances to cutting-edge video art projects that underscore the evolving paradigms of Digital Culture. Deeply rooted in remix culture, his real-time AV projects masterfully weave elements from diverse contexts, such as post-work anthropology and abstract 3D modeling nuances for industrial design. While his narratives often touch upon contemporary societal anxieties and dystopias, they are expressed through a vibrant and chaotic metaphysical lens.
Lucas has showcased his work at prominent exhibitions, including The New Infinity | Berliner Festspiele | Immersion and CTM/transmediale (Germany), Llum BCN Festival d’Arts Lumíniques (Spain), and EMA Expo ММОМА (Russia). He has also delivered talks and performances at esteemed venues like Centre Pompidou / IRCAM / Manifeste (France), Sonar+D and MUTEK (Argentina/Mexico), ZKM-Karlsruhe, MIRA and MMMAD Festival (Spain), Poesiefestival (Germany), and NYU in both Berlin and Tokyo.
Over recent years, Lucas has shared his expertise through lectures at institutions such as UdK – Universität der Künste Berlin and Kunsthochschule Weißensee, focusing on real-time visualization, spatial motion graphics, and visuals.
