Description

The family of Happy tables is based on the idea of a new combination of materials: marble and colorful anodised aluminium or recycled plastic. This combination led to a sepcial assembly system which enables the joining of the table top and the legs. The legs go through the table top which gives unexpected lines to the family

The details bring out a representation of a sort of faces and brings the idea that clever design details can bring poetry into the objects.

Each pieces is unique and made from carefully selection of materials.

About the designer

Adrien Rovero

Born in 1981, Adrien Rovero holds a Master’s in Industrial Design from the ECAL/University of art and design Lausanne Switzerland. Active in the realms of product and exhibition design, he opened his studio in Renens in 2006. Adrien Rovero’s work is rooted in his keen observation of the details and needs of his surroundings. This inspires highly inventive  designs, as uncluttered as they are effective, and comprising a formal vocabulary built up out of assemblage, repurposing and shifting around shapes, materials, references and purposes. The Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris), the Grand-Hornu Images (Belgium), the CNAP (France), the Museum für Gestaltung (Switzerland) and the mudac (Lausanne) have acquired works by this young designer to add to their collections.

Presenting “PROXIMITY”, a collection created in collaboration with Southern Sweden Design Days showcasing a selection of new work from ten designers and studios. As a whole, the collection contemplates the notion of proximity, interconnection, and belonging. Whether through contemporary references to traditional crafts techniques; the use of locally sourced materials such as wool, lichen, steel, and wood; or playful visualisations of the notion itself, the selected pieces illustrate the importance of closeness, interconnection, and kinship in uncertain times. Featuring pieces by Andrea Santivanez, Andréason & Leibel, Ebba Lindgren, Förstberg Ling, Jóna Berglind Stefánsdóttir, Lab La Bla, Lisa Darland, Louise Hederström, Moa Lönn, and Studio M. Organised by Form/Design Center in Malmö, Sweden, Southern Sweden Design Days is an annual event currently in its second edition, which highlights sustainability, collaboration, development, and innovation in design. This year’s theme, as described by the event organisers, “[reflects] on the notion of being close – the connection between people, cities, countries, species, professions, etc”. The physical exhibition of “PROXIMITY” will take place at Lokstallarna, Södra Bulltoftavägen 51, 212 22 Malmö from 19 - 22 May 2022.
