A delicate, cracked collectible vase-object with hot-glass modeled and hand-painted birds made of opaline glass.
Vase as a work of art. Inspired by endangered bird species and habitats.
In the Feather Animals collection, I was inspired by endangered bird species found in the Czech Republic. Birds such as the hawfinch, the goldfinch, the blue tit and others are perched on the surface of the vases. The vases themselves are based on my significant Garden collection. For Feather Animals, I chose a cracked surface for the vases with subtle color transitions evoking the individual seasons. The fine web of cracks even more strongly thematizes the fragility and vulnerability of the natural environment.
The vase is first mouth-blown into a wooden mold, underlayed with color and cracked. The glass animal is hand-modeled by glass master Martin Štefánek, then hand-painted by my hands and glued used hot glass and fixed to the vase.
Created in one piece original, hand signed, certified and numbered.
