CRTG is a dried flower vase, inspired by the most common quarry waste: the coring. It is thus a cylinder that comes with both of its ends unfinished. We thought of it as a slim and minimalist object.
Produced on a lathe to standard dimensions, each piece is broken in half after completion to evoke the raw, fragmented quality of the original coring.
Made from Lipica Fiorito stone, a limestone from the Karst region between Italy and Slovenia. Fiorito (“floral”) refers to its pattern, formed over millions of years, containing fragments of shells, microorganisms, and corals. Its curve highlights these fossils, making each piece unique and creating a meeting of geometry, geology, and craft.
Every piece is handcrafted by local artisans, continuing a stone-working tradition rooted in Roman‑era quarries.
Natural irregularities and subtle imperfections are part of the handcrafted process.
Uncoated stone may stain if it comes into contact with organic or oily substances.
