Inspired by the ritual of café con pan, lingering over coffee and pastry in unhurried conversation, this sculptural bistro chair embodies the same sense of presence and permanence as the ritual itself. Its pebble-like contours soften the simple geometry, merging structure with organic warmth. Unlike lightweight café chairs, this piece is grounded and enduring, designed to encourage long, meaningful moments of connection.
Crafted in solid cherry wood, the chair’s seat is CNC-carved for precision, while the frame is hand-shaped with an angle grinder and refined with files, giving each edge its softened but intentional character. The warm tone of the cherry was chosen to harmonize with the concrete and desert landscapes that inspired its design.
As the designer’s first chair, con Pan carries the spirit of exploration and discovery. This inaugural edition includes a posture that is slightly more upright than intended, an imperfection that marks the learning process and makes the chair an authentic piece of the designer’s history. Both functional and decorative, it stands as a collectible object that bridges everyday ritual with sculptural design.
