Description

“Wall Tower” is made of separate clay pieces in high refractory clay and glazes. Each separate piece measures 5cm x 25cm and is attached to the wall with magnets and glue so that it can be removed without any difficulty.

The size and shape of the piece will vary depending on the site. Colors are optional, depending on customer’s wishes. The weight of the entire work will depend on the number of individual pieces. Each individual piece weights approximately 1.60kg.

Gloria Garcia Lorca was born in NYC where she lived until 1967. She studied at the University of Madrid and Sarah Lawrence College in New York where she graduated in 1967. She lives and works in Madrid mostly showing in Spain since 1973. Gloria Garcia Lorca’s work often finds its starting point in organic structures found in nature. She makes site-specific pieces in different media and also works in clay both as an artist and ceramist. Her work includes textile design. Gloria Gracia Lorca has translated into English El Romancero Gitano (the Gypsy Ballads) by Federico García Lorca with poet Jane Durán, published by Enitharmon Press UK in 2011 and is currently preparing another Lorca translation with Durán: El Diván del Tamarit (The Tamarit Divan) and Los Sonetos del Amor Oscuro, (The Sonnets of Dark Love) to be published by Enitharmon Press in 2015.
