This is a sculptural vase in monochromic colour with a drip shifting from off-white to pink. I try and work with different materials to explore each material’s unique spectrum of qualities such as thickness, viscosities, glossiness, and transparency. This way my works are not “painted” in a traditional sense. Rather, I let the work grow over the course of many layers.
The idea of making these comes from my fascination with something melting or dripping away. Also working with upcycling, giving something old a new, unique and colourful touch.
The drip on the vase undergo a colour transformation when exposed to sunlight and specific levels of UV radiation. When subjected to ultraviolet rays, the product transitions from an almost colourless powder to vivid hues. Once the direct UV source is no longer present, it reverts back to being colourless.
