Description

This table light’s name, “Casella,” refers to the skyscrapers that pop up in cities all over the world. Made from metal cut into different pieces and welded together afterwards, this sleek, original object is build like a contemporary skyscraper, with its floating terraces and airy joints. Its various surface textures and forms result in a fascinating play of light and shadow; due to its difficult production process, every piece is unique.

About Yves Pauwels Visit Showroom →

Yves Pauwels is an autodidact. As a child, he grew up literally under the drawing table of his father, who was an architect, and brought him into contact with many inspiring people, including the famous architect and designer Willy Van Der Meeren, with whom his father worked. Probably driven by a kind of rebelliousness, Pauwels decided to learn pharmacy and biology sciences, but in the evenings following his classes, he would take drawing courses. Although it was never his plan, he founded a design studio after graduating from medical school, and he has never looked back. Today he runs his own office with his wife, and they design for new constructions, renovations and interior architecture. By combining his passion for lighting with his love of social design, Pauwels created Falluce in 2007. With Falluce, he creates handmade, artistic-inspired and playful lighting objects, always made to measure or in small series, and these creations are shown in their gallery in Asse.
