Description

“CANDY” Box is part of “The Post War” Collection and is a work edited in only 5 copies.

The pieces are a tribute to the artist’s childhood which took place in the 80s. The sum of the untroubled memories without concerns, represented by the symbols that mean happiness for the author (Lego, Star Wars, Disney heroes) crystallizes in these decorative elements that mix high craftsmanship with pop culture in which Italy in those years was swarming.

Handmade engraved crystal box: with 24car gold-leaf coated brass figures.
Made in Venice by Leo de Carlo.

About Leo De Carlo Visit Showroom →

Born in Venice in 1972. He graduated in Industrial Design at the Milan Polytechnic. After an experience in the field of goldsmith design, he arrives in Philippe Starck's studio. In Paris he is fascinated by design capable of expressing traditional craftsmanship in a contemporary key. Back in Italy he pursues these expressions by starting to collaborate with companies in which manual skill is a distinguishing element of production. The son of antique dealers specialised in Venetian glass art, De Carlo re-elaborates the different craft traditions with which he came into contact, through his personal creative universe. A mix of high culture and pop culture that offers a playful, at times disturbing, vision of the contemporary world.
