Peter Donders’ “C-stone” is named for the carbon fiber processed through an innovative technique to produce a striking asymmetric form. Despite the complexity of this form, Donders found a way to construct the stone by layering geodetic paths so that the fiber could ultimately be assembled mechanically from one piece. Although these edgeless organic forms appear simple at first sight, its existence is depends on a great deal of complex mathematics and calculations. Donders is the only designer so far who has been able to shape carbon fiber so organically, which has attracted the attention of the car, air and space industries worldwide.
