Budge is a conceptual seating object, designed as part of Nush’s MFA thesis collection. Drawing from the objects and spaces of street vendors in India, the object plays around with the ideas of mobility and staticity. The massive red oak volume, is made mobile by covering it’s sides with fixed casters. In the upright position, five wheels make contact with the ground and work against each other, effectively rendering the volume immovable. The Lacewood handle can be pulled and once tipped over, the stool can be pulled around and made mobile. The idea of being on five wheels and still being extremely stable is the idea on which the object is made.
Stack laminated Red Oak Volume, shaped with a three axis CNC. Walnut spacers and caster wheels and steel hardware.
