Ariel is a briarwood piece of furniture to hang on wall.
A combined oven and writing desk backed by an arc-shaped mirror—in case inspiration strikes while
cooking dinner.
“Leave it to the oven to prepare dinner, you write that thought before it flies away ”
Ariel is part of my kitchen collection Serendipity – a sanctuary of good living.
Where I got the idea from?
“I am a designer, not a writer, and yet I felt like talking about love. I wanted to tell my partner ‘I want to live with you’.
So I thought of using my creativity, my art: not ‘words to say it’ but ‘objects to say it’. I designed a piece of furniture for the kitchen, the heart of the domestic life I dreamt of with him.
A piece of furniture to hang, not to be placed permanently on the floor, so that it would remind us both that love is a fragile feeling, it is never something definitive so, returning to the piece of furniture, every now and then you have to make sure the screws are still tight. A piece of furniture that contains an oven because love, like a cake, can rise if it is baked with care. A piece of furniture that is also a mirror, a witness to our being together at all times. A piece of furniture that has a single long elegant drawer where to store the precious things of us, not mine or his but ours, a drawer of objects, a diary of our life together.
The lamp can be customized to work in any country.
Oven not included.
