This chair is the result of an experimental approach to aluminum sand casting. Rather than treating casting as a fixed process aimed at reproducing predetermined forms, I see it as a medium for capturing the momentary, the contingent, and the unrepeatable. Each element is first cast individually, then joined together by pouring molten aluminum directly onto the points of contact. This method does not erase the traces of process, but instead allows them to become part of the structure itself. The connections are not hidden but revealed—moments where liquid aluminum flowed, cooled, and solidified in ways that could not be entirely controlled.
Through this, the chair embodies a tension between intention and accident. It is not simply fabricated, but rather grown through layers of chance and necessity. The irregularities, textures, and joints that emerge are records of transformation, where the act of fusing becomes as important as the finished form. What remains is not only an object of use, but also a sculptural testimony to the unpredictable encounter between matter, time, and gesture.
This chair is made with a polished seat and armrest tops by default, but can be customized to retain the raw sand-cast texture upon request.
