Bernie Anderson founded Onus Studio in 2017 and works out of her studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her designs are motivated by a desire to playfully interpret the shapes and forms of the natural world. Through the lens of her individual perspective, she creates practical yet otherworldly adornments for the body using traditional techniques such as hand carving and lost wax casting. The ethos of Onus Studio is deeply rooted in the idea that jewelry is meant to show personality. Both emanating from the piece and as a reflection of the wearer. Also of the utmost importance is that each Onus piece retains evidence of the craftsmanship it took to create it, rather than achieve perfection in replication. All Onus jewelry is hand crafted with love and care put into every piece, using recycled metals when possible.
