“Lionfoot” is a curvy ceramic piece that aesthetically speaks in more than one direction. From above, it has a comb-like silhouette with its toes sticking out in a symmetric manner. Its surface is both matte and textured, with a rather synthetic colour made by a mix of varnish and ceramic pigment. On the ground, it stands solid and calm; while hanging on a wall, it feels almost like the paws of a mythical creature reaching out to you.
This piece was made in 2019 in Amsterdam as part of the exhibition “Objects in mirror are closer than they appear”. Most recently, it has been shown at 3 days of design in Copenhagen.
