For the creation of “Vessel”, the process started from throwing clay on a pottery wheel and trimming excess clay in a particular shape. Afterwards, the piece is carefully dried and fired for the first time. All of the glazes are specially developed and tested on different clay bodies before their final application. The object is fired multiple times in an electric kiln to 1230°C.
Glazing is a very important part of the process. It creates a three dimensional surface with contrasting textures, from the illusion of a dry and aged surface to a dripping wet surface.
