About Henna Nuutinen Visit Showroom →

I'm an artist and designer from Finland. I have degrees as an interior architect and furniture designer from South-Easter Finland University of Applied Sciences in 2017 and Master of Arts from Aalto University 2021. I'm working mostly with ceramic sculptures. I build my work using a very thin wall with traditional coiling technique, which is a slow and meditative process. For me, making art is about some inexplicable need to create and make by hand. I make my sculptures slowly, layer by layer, as if to resist the hectic pace of the modern world. It is an endless search for forms, a new sculpture always prompts the idea of the next one and the one after that. The shape grows intuitively, but it needs to be balanced, just like everything else in life, we try to find a balance in the middle of all the variables and possibilities in our lives.
