Plus Nightstands by Goux Studio New York are designed for bedside essentials. They are solidly constructed, but visually lightweight and modest in footprint. They can also be used for general storage or display in other spaces—next to a reading chair or in an entryway, for example. These Plus Nightstand shelves are milled from 3 cm [1.1875 in] thick Grand Antique marble. Each shelf is supported by a plus-shaped aluminum wall bracket, available in four colors. Plus Nightstands are also available with round hardwood shelves as well as wider rectangular shelves. See related product pages.

Plus Nightstands are part of Goux Studio’s Plus Collection, an open-ended series of storage and display objects, all designed around the same plus-shape extrusion. The collection was launched in 2024 with wall-mounted nightstands, shelves, hooks, mirrors, and planters. The Plus pieces are practical, well-crafted and durable, but they are also meant to be extra-functional—beautiful, refined, and warm objects worth keeping over a lifetime. They feature precisely machined parts and are designed to be installed with basic tools and minimal fuss. The clarity of the joinery and installation methods, both visible and invisible, are important aspects of the collection’s design. The studio is committed to using solid, natural materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, hardwoods, and marble. All of the components are produced by Goux and local partners in the New York area.

Goux Studio is based in Brooklyn and was founded by Steven Gertner. The studio operates at the intersection of hardware and furniture, creating practical storage and display pieces that are modular yet rich in material and form. Goux released the Plus Collection in 2024, a series of functional, everyday objects, including wall-mounted nightstands, shelves, hooks, mirrors, and planters, all designed around the same plus-shape extrusion. The collection evolved from the studio’s explorations of using one structural element to build a small world of objects. With the use of stainless steel, hardwood, and marble add-ons, Goux reconfigures and transforms the same aluminum plus-shape design into a variety of storage and display pieces. These pieces are practical, well-crafted and durable, but they are also extra-functional–beautiful, refined, and warm objects worth keeping over a lifetime. “The Plus pieces are not engineered to disappear into anonymous bits of hardware,” says Steven. “They are designed to have their own presence, point of view and, and, hopefully, beauty. They are good active listeners for larger spaces and the meaningful things each piece holds.” The Plus Collection draws on modern architectural influences, especially the work of Mies van der Rohe and Konrad Wachsmann, as well as Steven’s unique background. He grew up around his grandparents’ hardware business and went on to receive a Master of Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He began his career at MOS Architects and later designed several patented fastening systems and installation tools. Goux Studio is a product of these dual design backgrounds: a speculative architectural vision grounded in a deep technical appreciation for how things are made.
