About Tine Otto Visit Showroom →

"Tine Otto holds a Master's degree from the Royal College of Art in London, where she developed a profound understanding of art. Inspired by the beauty of nature and its organic forms, her work reflects a tactile language that encompasses intricate structures and patterns. Tine has a particular fondness for the art of embroidery, viewing it as a medium through which she can express her creativity. Her artistic journey is fueled by a strong passion for exploring structures, colors, and shapes. Influenced by iconic figures such as Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Lucio Fontana, Eames, and Arne Jacobsen, Tine embraces the essence of modernism in her creations. Working exclusively with natural fibers, she sources materials spun by her mother-in-law and dyes them using plant-based colors derived from avocados, nuts, leaves, and more. This commitment to natural elements adds a unique touch to her pieces. Tine's collection features a series of meticulously hand-embroidered fiber artworks and decorative pieces, each a testament to her dedication to modernism and her love for organic shapes inspired by nature." “I view embroidery as a way of drawing and shaping, where threads serve as my brushes and yarn as my colour palette. The process is often improvised, allowing the material to guide me.”
