Description

Onda, meaning “wave” in Portuguese, is inspired by organic modernism and Florida’s natural textures. arrived aliens blends clean, minimalist lines with surfaces shaped by the raku firing process. During firing, metal oxides react with flame and smoke, producing unpredictable variations — color shifts, metallic tones, and sometimes fine surface cracks from rapid cooling. These natural irregularities make each sconce one of a kind. Made in-house in Miami.

Made-to-order pieces are available. The green tones come from copper carbonate; depending on the firing, copper may appear more or less.

About arrived aliens Visit Showroom →

Arrived Aliens emerged from the intersection of our approaches to design. We, Denis Gomes and Katerina Oleinikova, combine conceptual analysis with a creative process shaped by our diverse backgrounds in traditional arts, IT, graphic, and interior design. Our inspiration includes Florida’s landscapes, tropical brutalism, site-specific references, and influences like space-age design and 1970s-80s aesthetics. While interior design remains our focus, we are expanding our collection of furniture and lighting using local materials and techniques.
