Description

Noosphere is a luminaire by Catrinel Sabaciag that plays with perception. The term “noosphere”, referring to “ the sphere of human consciousness and mental activity “ hints at the illusion created by design. The lamp brings to life a sphere shape using holographic technology.
The lamp’s central element changes shape as the viewer moves around the piece with the aid of holographic technology. The light is reflected in a dazzling, yet subtle array of curved shapes. The luminaire incorporates dichromatic filters, which create the effect of color-shifting. Depending on the angle from which it is viewed and the surrounding light, the material creates a whole spectrum of lights, reflections, and shadows.
Noosphere creates a state of tranquility and opens up a space for an immersive and mesmerizing experience. I believe that these types of interactions are very valuable, especially in the fast-paced world we live in.

Through our Smart and user-friendly app, you can become the designer of your light show: The lamp can be controlled by remote or by an app, as well as Alexa Google Home Assistant, and Siri. The luminaire has a complete RGB spectrum, and predefined color-changing programs, thus enabling you to design your own color and intensity program to suit your mood.
The Smart app is very versatile and adapts to different needs and atmospheres, from party light, by syncing the color effects with your favorite music to a subtle and soothing night lamp or an accent lighting fixture.
NUDE option: The central part emits blush pink shades, while the rear disk has a subtle blue hue. The luminaire also cast a radiant light-green glow on the wall.

The luminaire can be wall or ceiling-mounted. It can be connected via socket or wall cables.

CATRINEL’S WORK STRADDLES BETWEEN PRODUCT DESIGN, INSTALLATION, AND SCULPTURE. Her multidisciplinary approach often finds its roots in science and philosophy, whilst the making, quite experimental, is oriented towards material exploration. Catrinel’s work is driven by her interests in perception&movement. The themes she tackles most are time perception, entropy, light and nature. Through her interactive objects, she designs experiences that challenge perception and visualize the invisible forces that surround in an engaging manner. This brings reality in a new light, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary. In her process, she uses a mix of advanced manufacturing techniques such as laser cutting and hands-on ones such as casting. The objects often embody a scaffolding of technical components, which is used to mimic an organic/natural inspired phenomena.
