    Description

    The ButtonBack Chair explores materiality, form, and ergonomics with an asymmetric structure that minimizes components while maintaining stability. Prioritizing hand carving and taking advantage of the flexibility offered by the volume of the lumber allowed us to embrace the organic and imperfect while highlighting the dynamic nature of the grain of the cherry wood. The contrasting maple armrest and the defining motif of the chair provide a contrast to the warmth and visual weight of the cherry by introducing a natural color block. The chair features a low, inclined posture and a deep seat. In addition to serving as a beautiful accent piece, the seating angle is optimized for a comfortable lounging.

    About Nush Wadia Visit Showroom →

    Nush Farzaan Wadia is a designer and visual artist based in Brooklyn, New York. With an academic foundation in spatial and object design, and a passion for the visual arts, his design practice explores the intricacies of the complex relationship between humans, the objects they use and the spaces they occupy. He searches for ways in which this relationship is stretched and extends beyond its seeming boundaries. His works have been published internationally and will soon be exhibited at Launch Pad by WANTED at ICFF, New York, 2025. Nush is always looking for opportunities to showcase his work and play around with the boundaries of the media he engages with.
