The Athina table lamp is an ode to the Column. Not an addition of metaphysical
mass, but rather a hollow volume composed of bespoke folded sheets of metal
meticulously assembled with industrial blind nuts, a discreet intrusion into the
notion of Scale and Time.
Its faceted surface, evoking the Column as a folded wall, catches and vibrates
with light, crowned with a fluid metallic drapery woven from chainmail. Like
the Caryatids of the Acropolis of Athens, this mantle recalls the elegance of
carved garments and diffuses light with softness, balancing strength and grace,
reminding us that the Column, the very essence of Architecture, is intimately tied
to the human figure, a vertical rising from earth towards sky.
It stands with quiet power, its contemporary silhouette deeply rooted in ancient
archetypes, towards a new monumentality.
