About the designer

Arredondo brothers, Luis and Gabriel, self-taught master carpenters, industrial designers, and founders and directors of Taller Nacional: a furniture design and production firm. Their work focuses on the transformation of materials and their pieces seek balance between technology and the experience of their team composed by great master’s carpenters, using wood as the common thread of their work. Throughout their professional careers, they have had the opportunity to collaborate on different commercial, residential and corporate projects, often with figures from the art, design and architecture industries such as architects Frida Escobedo and Tatiana Bilbao, designer Moisés Hernández, as well as galleries such as Clásicos Mexicanos and AGO Projects. Their work has been published in recognized media such as Their furniture collection \"Evocation\" won the award a! Design as \"Best furniture collection 2019\". This piece was inspired by Mexican modernism. It arises from the search for balance between the different materials and processes involved. On one hand, the efficiency and thought behind its development, and on the other, aesthetically seeking to generate in the user a feeling of longing and respect for the past, applauding the great legacy left in Mexico by figures of furniture design and manufacture such as Michael Van Beuren, Clara Porset, Eugenio Escudero, Industrias Ruíz Galindo, among others.
