The 3-legged chair named KNAST by Benjamin Nordsmark was created from the desire to create a simple chair where the legs would be the significant part of the visual language. Therefore the ash wood with the big knobs was selected intentionally to make a good contrast to the plain color of the seat and back. The chair provides exceptionally comfortable seating with support in the right places on the person’s back. At the same time, the legs can move freely under the seat because of the position of the leg in front.
The name Knast comes from the Danish word for wooden knots and reflects on the visual appearance of the ash wood being used for these chair, which contain a significant amount heavy wooden knots and brown core.
It is possible to order the chair with different colors on the seat and back. Contact us to inquire.
