A.D.U. is a design studio working between Antwerp and Lisbon, creating objects that bring together natural materials, technology, and contemplation. Its work explores how design can make space for reflection—on the rhythms of nature, the passage of time, and our place in a world larger than ourselves.

The studio’s signature collection, MOON, is a light sculpture that reproduces the Moon’s actual phase and angle in real time, calibrated to its location on Earth. As the illuminated crescent changes, MOON transforms an astronomical cycle into an intimate, everyday experience: a quiet reminder that change is constant, and not everything is ours to control.

Each piece brings together materials shaped by natural forces, including alabaster formed over millions of years, with custom electronics and carefully developed algorithms. The stone is selected for its unique character and finished by hand in Lisbon. Through this meeting of ancient material and contemporary technology, A.D.U. creates distinctive design objects that invite awe, patience, and a deeper connection with the world around us.
