SHAPE & SHADE is a multidisciplinary architecture and design studio based in Prishtina and Istanbul. Our practice is rooted in the belief that design is both an emotional memory and a cultural gesture — a way of shaping space, stories, and material with care and clarity. We work across scales, from urban interventions and architecture to furniture and objects, always with an eye toward contextual intelligence and contemporary expression.

Our projects often emerge from overlooked narratives — drawing inspiration from vernacular forms, traditional craftsmanship, and collective memory — and translating them into radical, relevant, and emotionally resonant design. Whether it’s a chair inspired by the stone stools of Albanian villages or an urban masterplan reimagining post-industrial land, each work becomes a form of storytelling.

We are deeply invested in material innovation, contextuality, and social relevance. Many of our objects incorporate recycled or natural materials, developed in close collaboration with local artisans and manufacturers. We seek not to impose, but to respond — listening to place, culture, and time.

Founded by architect and designer Ibrahim Beqiri, SHAPE & SHADE’s work has been exhibited internationally and recognized through numerous awards, including being a German Design Award Winner 2025, World Architecture Festival Finalist 2024 and ICONIC Awards honoree. Our collections have been showcased at Milan Design Week, Dutch Design Week, Dubai Design Week, and EXPO 2025 Osaka — contributing to a growing global movement that revalues heritage through design.

Above all, SHAPE & SHADE exists to explore the tension between permanence and transformation — between what is remembered and what is possible.
