Multidisciplinary artist Seray Asker was born in 1978 in Istanbul. She has been living in Spain since 2015.
After graduating from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Interior Architecture, she continued her education at Utrecht Fine Arts University, Department of Plastic Arts. Completing her studies in the Netherlands, the artist lived 10 years in Sweden where she worked as an Art Consultant in the design sector and her works created in various disciplines of art took part in many personal and group exhibitions in various countries. In the same period, as her second interest, she studied languages at Uppsala University.
In Spain, where she moved to complete her Spanish studies, she focused on ceramic and mural works as well as working as an art consultant for the last four years.
In 2021, she moved her art to Mexico as an outcome of the "Ceramic Musical Instruments Design"Â scholarship she won in Oaxaca/Mexico. The artist, deeply influenced by Mexican culture, conveyed the inspirations of this culture to her works and she gave life to clay by creating ceramic musical instruments. Her Mexican interactions are also reflected in her rug designs and her mural works. In the same year, she popped up her mobile studio in Cappadocia where she also collaborated with the local artists.
Currently, in addition to adobe house architectural projects in Mexico, she is participating in contemporary art events, exhibitions, symposiums and competitions with her ceramics, paintings, sculptures and fibre art pieces.
