Biography |
Rahee Yoon is a Seoul-based designer and artist. Having majored in extensive crafts of metalwork, textile, ceramics, and woodworking, she opened her own studio in 2017 and has presented a wide array of artworks.
Yoon imbues her work with unique character and a sense of delicacy. She relies on the impact of accidental effects to explore her materials, which reveals authentic and surprising qualities inherent to the nature of materials she uses. In particular, Yoon has been immersed in experiments with acrylic for over 8 years as her primary material Yoon attempts to make manifest combinations of adjectives and action verbs that she feels such as ‘to permeate deeply’, ‘subtly refract’, and ‘simply overlap,’ which allows her to interpret the metaphors and images contained in material in her own way.
All of her works and interpretations are created from her own hands. They become highly aesthetic objet d’arts through close collaborations with special engineers in Seoul and small workshops across Korea.
