Biography |
Lotta Lampa (1981-) designer and artist, based in Luleå and Kalix, Norrbotten, Sweden. Lampa operates in an international arena and is one of a few designers from Norrbotten who have shown their designs at Salone de Mobile in Milan on several occasions and at the Swedish Design Week in Stockholm. Her aesthetics are challenging and refer to both postmodernism and raggar culture, and are balanced with the calm and nature of Norrbotten. Lampa's design process consists of simple lines, humor, inspiration from nature and everyday life. The objects are sketched quickly and large, preferably directly in the material. Manufacturing is then done by hand in close cooperation with her father and brother working with raggar cars at Kalix. A sustainable craft, where origin, cooperation and community are important and valued highly. In addition to metal, she also works with materials like ice, enamel and textile. She has, among other things, created three pieces of art on ICEHOTEL, Jukkasjärvi (2014-2016). Lampa's design object is sold at design auctions such as Stockholm Auction Works, Örnsberg Auction and Bukowski's Upcoming Design / Modern Art Crafts Auction in the fall of 2018.
