I’m Laura Kjær, the founder and creative force behind Laura Kjær Studio, a one-woman design studio based in Aarhus, Denmark. With a BA in Interior and Furniture Design from KHIO in Norway and an MA in Product Design from Konstfack in Sweden, I’ve dedicated my practice to exploring the emotional power of colour, texture, and surface in design. To me, surfaces are far more than superficial—they reveal hidden depths, tell stories, and evoke a wide range of emotions. I strive to create furniture that is both functional and aesthetically enriching, blending a commitment to circularity with local craftsmanship. My designs challenge traditional norms by celebrating ornamentation as a meaningful element of design—one that connects people to the spaces they inhabit.
