Katie James (b. 1988, Kansas City, Missouri) uses her sculpture practice to explore the complexities of modern day human consumption and question its effects by creating textural storytelling through surface design. Her work aims to spark interest in understanding industrial waste on a grand scale by engaging familiar textures and shapes with peculiar clay body inclusions. While all pieces are unique works of expression, she also takes commissioned orders for related projects.
