Every educational choice I’ve ever made has been towards design. At first grasping on to the security of a design oriented engineering degree, till complete dedication through Beckmans College of Design. The detour taught me a lot, and I aim to implement my prior educational knowledge into my design, making sure to be a part of every step in the making.
I view an effortless transition between the digital room and physical craftsmanship as a must for an efficient workflow, though 3d-modeling is not a substitute for physical prototyping. Rather as a superiorly efficient and sustainable way of exploring proportions, materials and even volume through virtual reality, providing valuable information before entering the workshop.
I’m influenced by the now, and my design language is a direct response to this. To let the now inform all design decisions would never be a sustainable way of working, unless it is used as the motivation to find sustainable materials and solutions that allow the leverage of radical present design. That is what i am interested in exploring.
