Fenna Kosfeld (1999) is a German-born artist and material designer based in Barcelona. Her practice explores the emotional and atmospheric potential of light and natural materials through sculptural light objects, installations, photography, and landscape-based works. With a background in Fine Arts from Chelsea College of Arts (UAL) in London and a Master’s in Design through New Materials from Elisava in Barcelona, her work bridges experimental material research and art production.
Guided by a tactile, intuitive process, Fenna works at the interplay of light and matter — using material as both medium and metaphor to reflect ecological interconnection and the quiet transformations of matter. Her light objects are often envisioned as sculptural companions that invite stillness, solitude, and presence.
She is establishing a studio dedicated to material exploration, unlearning, and creating collectable pieces that evoke wonder and expand our perception of life and material entanglements.
Beyond her work in the studio, Fenna is inspired by gardening, observing natural cycles or making a fire. Fun fact: You might find her touching and smelling random things that cross her path, and often walking around with a leaf, flower, or a stick.
