| Biography |
Delphine Cobbaert (°1994) is a passionate textile designer based in Ghent, Belgium. After completing her master degree in textile design at KASK School of Arts in Ghent, she founded her own traditional weaving mill in 2019.
Delphine her designs are handwoven using old Belgian looms and twisting machines. She developed various techniques to be able to make all her designs from thread to object in her own production capacity.
Hereby her way of working has evolved from her strength as a craftsman in which she attach great importance to handicraft, quality, personality, sustainability, limited editions and local Belgian production.
Space, context, materiality and tactility are very important in her artistic process. This makes the role of the body very important to her, which comes into contact with her objects and feel comfortable, warm in the space.
Thread by thread, her textile objects are hand woven into a unique custom made artisan design of high-quality natural materials to keep and cherish.
