A native New Yorker, David has made his home in Madrid since 1996. Having worked for diverse fashion and footwear clients (Carhartt WIP, Veja, Aletheia, Edwin Jeans, Pointer, etc.) he brings 20+ years of experience establishing brands in Spain and introducing exclusive Spanish brands to the rest of the world. Project Management, Marketing, Leadership and Training, Wholesale, Retail, Strategy, Brand Development, Media/Event Planning, Content Creation and Sponsoring are just a few of his skillsets, from onset to execution. A native English speaker, he is a respected leader and an insightful communicator with fluency in Spanish and working use of French, and Italian.
Currently he is the International Project Manager of IED Innovation Lab at Istituto Europeo di Design, where he curates and produces projects in the fashion, innovation, technology, and design industries.
Prior to this he played a valuable role in building Spain´s first international urban art fair. Known as Urvanity Art, he served as Sales Director while sparking the brand´s first client relations, brand identity, strategy, and artistic selection.
David dedicated the 12 years leading up to this as Marketing and Communication Director Spain for Carhartt WIP from 2004 to 2016 (during which annual sales revenues quadrupled), designing, implementing and managing the marketing plan and budget for over 12 consecutive years, thus positioning and maintaining Carhartt Spain´s ranking within the top 5 worldwide.
As Human Resources Director of Carhartt WIP Madrid from 2000 to 2003, he rebuilt, motivated and managed the teams for the 3 official Carhartt WIP Stores in the Spanish capital: Augusto Figueroa, 3 · CC Xanadú · Espoz y Mina, 13.
From 1996 to 1999 David founded and ran HiTop Records, an electronic music label, releasing exclusive material by Spanish artists and compilations that documented hidden gems. He possesses strong contacts across different industries and loves a new challenge.
